Fellow New Rochelle Resident,

The New Rochelle Police Association (P.A.N.R.) has had the privilege of organizing various events that have brought our officers and the wonderful people of our community together for positive interactions.  These events include events like our Operation Blue Santa toy giveaway, Halloween Costume Giveaway, Halloween Truck O’ Treat Candy Give Away, Coffee with a Cop and National Night Out, just to name a few.  The P.A.N.R. has also been actively involved in various local charity events such as the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run and Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics, The North Avenue Mile, Coat and Toy Drives, Refuge of Hope Turkey Drive, Hope Soup Kitchen Thanksgiving Dinner, St. Baldrick’s Head Shaving Fundraiser to Fight Childhood Cancer, Habitat for Humanity Construction Projects, and many more.  Our Officers also proudly wear special “Pink Patches” during the month of October and “Autism Patches” during the month of April to bring promote awareness, compassion and understanding for those suffering from breast cancer and autism.

Our Police Association is made up of 150 Officers who work hard to proudly serve our City and all of its residents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays and weekends.    We are fathers, mothers, daughters, sons, from different Countries and backgrounds, and in many cases, residents of New Rochelle ourselves.

During 2018, we answered over 50,000 calls for service, ranging from routine traffic accidents, to life saving medical emergencies to serious calls involving firearms and other potentially life-threatening emergencies.  Our officers respond without hesitation and often with disregard for their personal safety.

The morning of September 11, 2001 and the days after were no exception.  Upon hearing of the unimaginable events taking place, many New Rochelle Police Officers made their way down to the World Trade Center to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts, Including New Rochelle Police Officer Kathleen O’Connor and Detective Mark Gado.  Officer O’Connor and Detective Gado volunteered tirelessly to help search for victims amongst the poisonous piles of debris.  Sadly, both of these heroic officers lost their lives in 2018 due to 9/11 related illnesses.  The tremendous sacrifice and selfless acts of these fallen officers are an example of the courage displayed by our officers as well as the dangers we face on a daily basis.

This year marks the 101st anniversary as a benevolent and charitable organization. Your support and donations are crucial to our Association.  Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue participating in all of these important community and charity events that help build a strong bond between our residents and our officers.   And when tragedy strikes, your contributions help provide financial support to the grieving families of fallen officers in their time of need.

We look forward to continue serving and protecting the City of New Rochelle with pride.  On behalf of our membership, I thank you in advance for your continued support.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions about our organization or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Liliana Sanchez, Vice President of the New Rochelle Police Association
